Middleburg’s Premier Polo Facility Expands

New from Banbury Cross this season - a 12-stall polo barn, a multi-use indoor arena and new paddocks, including a 100-acre polo pony turnout field -- great additions to the existing polo barns, sets track and playing and stick ball fields!

Pre-Season Countdown

We've got grass, and its legal! Come work your horses early -- we are looking for 4 to 6 players or their grooms who want to be part of light, pre-season practice chukkers starting May 8th. (We’ve also added youth and family chukkers - see below)

The Pass to the Grass

Early Chukkers and Practice Games Start Wednesday May 8

Your Pass to the Grass covers up to 14 grass practices to be played Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays - May 8 through June 5

Details:

•Practices are on field 2 or 3 depending on conditions

•6 player slots are available

•$850.00 package for practices held three times a week

•The à la carte play cost is $25 a chukker

It’s About Time! -- Friday Social Polo Returns

Look for wine tastings, a bourbon bash, even “movies and moonshine” as the best après polo party in the area returns this summer! Stay posted for the official 2013 kickoff.

Youth and Family Play

Starting May 10th, on Friday evenings, prior to the main match, there will be easy coaching chukkers, lessons, and stick and ball available for all levels. Come work on your skills or get someone to try polo for the first time, then stay for a fun evening of Social Polo in the member’s field-side pavilion.

Polo Camp for Kids

In addition to the mid-week and weekend lesson opportunities, day camps are planned for June July and August in 2013. In June camp will be available two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am -1pm. Activities include lessons, trail rides, barn projects and the use of the pool. Start dates will be published in May

Sitting Pretty

Get your own field-side spot - reserved benches and umbrellas are available for the season and include a name plate, parking spot and small display table that makes evening tailgating easy. Photos

New Social Currency

Good news for fans of social polo - there’s now a social membership that gives you access to the club’s popular Friday Social polo food and drink spread you are also invited be the first to reserve dates for co-hosted parties this season. It’s super easy to support the effort ... Learn more

Resident Pros and a Leading Lady

Resident club pros who will play, coach and teach this season at Middleburg Polo Center include Daniel Tognini (3) and Juan “Pitufo” Jaramillo (5). Two top collegiate players Tyler and Austin Burdick will also be on hand for practices and scrimmages. And we are excited to announce that Tiffany Busch, one of America's top female players, will join the BBX/Middleburg Polo effort this season offering a reserved set of clinics and lessons.

2013 Greens Fees

Good news you can still pay greens fees on a seasonal, monthly or per-chukker basis from June through September but we ask that you pay by credit card through our online service -- learn more

Signature Events

Expect at least three larger celebrations of polo and the outdoors at BBX this season including an opening event in the Spring for Friday Social Polo and the Virginia Fall Polo Classic in mid-September.

Party Like It’s Your Birthday

Some of the best evenings last season were built in partnership with others. If you have a brilliant party idea -- birthday, Girl’s Night Out or any fun occasion -- let’s co-host the bash - give us the date so we can put it on the schedule.
